The resurgence in popularity of vinyl records and turntables has been translating into the opportunity of advancing and creating new technology to enhance the use of this music medium.

VNYL is the perfect example of a company that has been tapping the booming record market with innovative ideas and products. The first of these was a record subscription service which sees users receive a personalized basket of records every month.

Next up, the company is moving onto hardware, by creating the world’s first wireless vinyl record player. TRNTBL will be able to stream music to speakers using Bluetooth or Airplay technology, on top of offering the streaming of uncompressed audio to Sonos’ entire line of premium audio products. Technology incorporated with TRNTABL will allow it to identify the music playing in real time with a live tune-in feature synched with Spotify.

Drumcell & Surachai Present: New Surachai LP on “BL_K NOISE”

unknown

Although kept under the radar until now, Moe Espinosa (a.k.a. Drumcell or Hypoxia) teamed up with Chicago-based producer Surachai in 2014 to launch a new imprint, BL_K NOISE. Aimed to release noisy-industrial pieces, both producers have been using this platform to release a darker side of techno different than what Drumcell sees put out on his Droid label.

Surachai is now ready to introduce the world to his upcoming LP “Instinct and Memory” as the fifth release on the label. The album sees him diving into industrial modular sounds of noise and drum & bass broken rhythms to deliver the signature gothic vibes the label seeks to play homage to as its mission. Below you can watch a special teaser for the album.

BL_K NOISE & TRASH_AUDIO collective Alessandro Cortini, Richard Devine together with Surachai & Hypoxia/Drumcell have also been holding specially curated and vinyl oriented label events that focus on music creation through the use of modular hardware. Guests have included Vatican Shadow, Oliver Dodd, Baseck, Polyfuse/Justin McGrath, Mark Verbos and DJMREX just to name a few.
