Tech House DJ Latmun Turned Freestyle Kayaking into Music

Tech House DJ Latmun loved freestyle kayaking that is until he came across electronic music. His love for the sport didn’t end when he put down his paddle. In fact, he made sure to carry that part of his life with him when shifting his attention to music. His artistic name pays a nod to the sport he competed in professionally. While he may not be getting wavey in the waters anymore, Latmun is certainly getting wavey on the dancefloor. The Nottingham-native has received support from leading artists in the electronic dance music space including Skream and Mathias Tanzmann.

If you’re in Miami during Miami Music Week (March 16 – 22), make sure to catch Latmun’s infectious grooves during the Repopulate Mars pool party. He’ll play alongside Lee Foss, Huxley, MK, Richy Ahmed, Mason Maynard and more.

In Interview with Mihalis Safras

Mihalis Safras has been an extremely consistent and prolific electronic producer and champion of vinyl over the last few years, with various releases on labels such as Saved, Cajual, Repopulate Mars, Relief, 8bit, and of course his own label Material.

His latest release, “Microwave,” is a collab with Green Velvet now out on Relief Records. This is the sixth collab between the two artists – the most Green Velvet has ever worked with another artist on. Mihalis is consistently one of the most charted artists across both Beatport and Resident Advisor, and for good reason. Following “Microwave,” he has further releases on Sola, Circus and a remix for Claptone, all of which will be dropping in the next few months, as well as major headlining events in Europe, the States and South America.

Electric Island Toronto Concludes 2016 Season with a 2 Day Showcase

EIToronto3
Torontos’ electronic music picnic and concert series, Electric Island, is set to conclude this Labor Day weekend.  For the first time since its 2013 inception, Electric Island will be spread across two days on Sept. 4th and 5th. The closing weekend will feature an array of acts from the likes of Dixon, Âme (LIVE), Get Real (Green Velvet b2b Claude Von Stroke), Loco Dice, Fatima Yamaha, Nicole Moudaber, Bicep, Guy J, and Justin Martin blending across a series of House and Techno with a splash of Electronic Pop to keep attendees on their toes.

Following the massive success from The Civic Holiday weekend in early August that drew well over 6,000 music lovers and making it one of the most memorable series to date. It is safe to say that the momentum will only carry forward into this weekend as local and international festival-goers will come to celebrate the rise of Toronto’s House & Techno scene, much thanks to the organizer’s relentless effort to push forward on this vision and making the city a bucket list destination for music travelers from around the world for many years to come.

Toronto is a dynamic metropolis with a core of soaring skyscrapers, all dwarfed by the iconic CN Tower. The city also has many green spaces, from the orderly oval of Queen’s Park to 400-acre High Park and its trails, sports facilities and zoo. Toronto is also known for their great local dining options and outdoor/indoor farmer’s market style such as the St. Lawrence Market. You can be sure we’ll be arriving there a few days early to soak up the city vibe before making our way to Queen’s Quay for the closing weekend of Electric Island 2016.

Fresh off a near 24-hour solo set at Sunwaves in Romania, Marco Carola and his Music On team have announced the lineup for their summer residency at Amnesia Ibiza.

The party is celebrating five years on the island and is one of the most sought-after destinations for partygoers in search of techno, tech house and house music. This year, those visiting Amnesia on Friday nights will be treated to music by a series of esteemed residents that include Stacey Pullen, Paco Osuna, Apollonia, as well as Music On regulars Leon and Neverdogs. While some of the additional guests are still to be announced, Sam Paganini, Green Velvet, Paul Ritch, Matthias Tanzmann, D’Julz, The Martinez Brothers and Dubfire are all set to play throughout the summer.

Music On boss Marco Carola is scheduled to play the Terrace every night of the residency that begins on June 3rd and ends September 30th. Unlike previous years, it seems that he will not be playing any open-to-close sets although Terrace guest DJs for August 12th and September 9th remain unannounced.

Find the full line-up for Music On Ibiza 2016 below. Tickets are available through Amnesia’s website.
