Global Vibe Radio 166 Feat. Nakadia

A mighty artist whose techy sounds flourished in a country marked by mainstream electronic music, Thailand’s Nakadia brought her sound back home upon her return from a Europe trip in 2002.

A mighty artist whose techy sounds flourished in a country marked by mainstream electronic music, Thailand’s Nakadia brought her sound back home upon her return from a Europe trip in 2002.

Thomas Hessler is part of a promising new generation of techno producers and DJs. Born in East Germany, Hesslerâs inspirations are deeply rooted in his home city of Berlin. Growing up during the time of the wallâs fall and resulting changes for Germany itself, his approach to production intends to reflect feelings of change.
Within a short time Hessler played his way from small undergound clubs of Berlin all the way to various venues in Europe, South and North America. Earning his respect in clubs like Bassiani, Fabric, Berghain and Tresor is just proving that his approach towards Djing with energy, emotions, intensive journeys of techno and its recent history is the right way to go.
Thomas has worked tirelessly to develop his craft and prove what he stands for as an artist. With his energetic, driven techno and deep melancholic electronica, informed by classic Detroit and Berlin sound yet also exploring more experimental boundaries. His releases have found a regular home on Marcel Fengler’s influential IMF imprint, as well as on labels like Bassiani, Crossing, Form and Function and Intimate Silence.
As Hessler delivers this week’s Global Vibe Radio mix, the 165th in our series, we took the time to have a chat to find out what he has been up to.
For this week’s Global Vibe Radio episode, we welcome Spain’s Kike Pravda, who was kind enough to provide a portion of the recording of his recent closing set at Liquid Club in Malta.
Kike’s production resume includes releases on Oscar Mulero’s Warm Up Recordings and PoleGroup, as well as Childen Of Tomorrow, Faut Section and his very own Senoid Recordings. On top of his own releases on Senoid, the label already counts an illustrious cast of artists for its releases, including Ben Sims, Oscar Mulero, Exium and P.E.A.R.L.
For Global Vibe Radio‘s 163th play we are treated with a Butane live set recording from Ten Years of Little Helpers label showcase at this year’s Miami Music Week.
A firm believer that the long hours of studio work keep a musician grounded, Butane boasts an impressive discography, released by some of the most highly regarded labels in the business, such as Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels, Dubfire’s Sci+Tec, Jamie Jones’ Hottrax, M.A.N.D.Y.’s Get Physical, and more. As a label owner, he’s the founder of three influential underground dance music imprints of his own: Alphahouse, Little Helpers, and his new Extrasketch project.

The 162nd edition of Global Vibe Radio comes from Brooklyn-based DJ & producer, Endangered label-boss and Cityfox Resident Brian Cid. His original productions have found homes on a number of the most credible and tastemaking record labels, with a style that touches melodic techno, deep house, progressive house and more, with no boundaries whatsoever.
Brianâs debut album Meteorite Man has been released on the legendary label Balance Music, alongside his original productions that can be found on imprints such as Fabric, Audioflyâs Supernature, Guy Jâs Lost & Found, Hot Since 82âs Knee Deep In Sound, Get Physical, microCastle, Manjumasi, Cityfox and more. Support on his music has come across the board from both longstanding DJ legends, as well as the new wave of club tastemakers. Everyone from Richie Hawtin, Pete Tong, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Lee Burridge, and Joris Voorn, to Adriatique, Dami an Lazarus, Thugfucker, and Tale of Us have championed the sounds of Cid.

For this week’s Global Vibe Radio episode we welcome Italian-born and Barcelona-based PĂLI, Producer, Co-Founder and DJ resident of HEX Barcelona and HEX Recordings.
In this studio mix, PĂLI demonstrates his unique musical style: a mix of mental, disturbing melodies and powerful techno. The name “PĂLI” comes from the polygon, a geometric figure with multiple sides that represents the eclecticism of his music. Despite his more-than-evident techno stamp, he is not a purist and his sets always carry different influences including House, Detroit, Dance, Dub, Trance and ’80s music.

For Global Vibe Radio’s 157th edition we call on the skills of Drumcode Records artist Boxia, who will be releasing his debut LP A Night In The Life Of on Drumcode on the 3rd June, 2019.
An artist whose outlook is heavily influenced by years spent on the dancefloors of clubs across the UK and overseas, Boxiaâs multi-faceted approach to music allows him to channel his creativity through a number of styles, maintaining a playful, inventive and often experimental output. Releases with Drumcode and appearances at influential clubs and festivals all over the world have put Boxia at the top of his game.
This week’s Global Vibe Radio guest is Devotion and AudioCode Records boss Fernanda Martins.
The Brazilian artist is known for her track selection and infectious mixing skills, both of which have garnered her performances throughout South America and Europe and with good reason.
We sat down with Fernanda for an in-depth interview to talk about her home in Bercelona, her relationship with Devotion partner Lucas Freire and what is coming up in her world as we continue through 2019.
Read on for the interview, and full track listing at the end of the article!
The 155th episode of Global Vibe Radio comes from one of the OG and pioneers of Swedish Techno: sound architect, DJ, producer, H-Productions label boss, Cozmick B-Boy and Praying Mantis… Cari Lekebusch!
For this week’s Global Vibe Radio episode we look no further than one of our own nights here in LA dated January 5th, 2019, when we hosted I Hate Models, JGarrett and Tap Newo.
JGarrett is the primary music project from Vancouver-based musician and producer Josh Garrett. A native of Ann Arbor, MI, Josh came to Techno and House within the shadow of Detroit and with direct involvement in the Detroit Techno and rave communities of the â90s. In 2000, Josh relocated to Vancouver and over the years has become an integral member of the Vancouver Techno scene, from running the well-respected label Subspec Music as well as a key member of the Proper Event Productions crew.
