For this week’s Global Vibe Radio mix and the 176th of our series, we welcome Spanish producer, DJ and label-head Kwartz.
Kwartz is the stage name of Mario Campos, born in Madrid in 1989. In late 2011 and after publishing several EPs in different international labels, Kwartz’s productions began to draw the attention of the leading names in the international scene.
Last week we had the honor of featuring Darko Esser’s techno project, known around the world as Tripeo, on our weekly Global Vibe Radio mix series.
This week, we had the opportunity of sitting down with the busy Dutch producer, DJ and record label owner to dig deeper in his life, his career and to discuss the mix that we have literally had on rotation non-stop for the last seven days.
If you haven’t listened to the mix, which clocks at a whopping 4 hours in length, we urge you to get to it immediately. It’s actually a live recording from his set at TAG in Chengdu, China, and perfectly captures Tripeo’s sonic journey when he is given the time to flex his muscles behind the DJ booth.
A soundtrack for dark cellars and strobe filled clubs, molded from a pure and uncut techno template. Thatâs what Darko Esserâs Tripeo alter ego is only and all about. Since launching the project, his music has found a home on labels such as Theory, BALANS, PoleGroup, Deep Sound Channel as well as 4 new vinyl-only Trips on his self-titled imprint. Tripeo is a force to be reckoned with on stage as well, as he proved in his machine funk-driven live shows as well as tireless, hypnotic DJ sets in some of the finest clubs and festivals around, as this recording we are presenting to you today proves.

Born in Italy and raised between his homeland and Spain, he founded HEX in Barcelona together with PĂLI back in 2014. It started as just an event, but in a few years, it took over the city, evolving into a full Techno movement composed by music, photography, visuals, art, design and clothing; creating experiences that go from club nights to art exhibitions and experimental sound shows.
The 173rd edition of Global Vibe Radio showcases the deep soundscapes of Svarog.
Svarog is one of the Slavic mythology gods, the deity of metal and fire, the forge operator. It is also the artistic name of Oleksa Moroz, musician and DJ from Lviv, Ukraine who draws musical inspiration from mountains and architecture.
His career started in 2015 with the release of an EP on the cult label Circular Limited, which showcased the best deep and bold sounds of techno, where textures and ambiences match the power of the beat.
This week’s Global Vibe Radio episode sees us feature the deep, techy and ambient soundscapes of All Day I Dream recording artist Lost Desert.
Just this week, Lost Desert and label boss Lee Burridge released their collaborative album, Melt, on All Day I Dream. The album aims to take its listeners on a journey through the ethos and creative wonder of its authors.
It begins on a trek through ambient plains with its title opener, followed by âSailing Without A Compass,â which offers a pensive space with melancholic woodwinds and sweeping cinematic string sections. Euphoria ensues in pieces like the sparkling âFloat Onâ and the buoyant vocal number âMibaleâ with Junior, while the wistful âChristina, Daydreamingâ closes out Melt on a nostalgic note.
In honor of the album release, and of Lost Desert’s specially-curated Global Vibe Radio mix, we decided to sit down for a chat with the DJ/producer to talk about the album, his studio gear and musical inspirations.

By way of Berlin and before that Moscow, Maryhas been cultivating her unique orbit in the electronic dance music firmament for over 10 years.
Having graced the decks of all â¨Moscowâs hotspots back in the⨠mid-2000s, Mary moved to Berlin,â¨where she quickly became â¨recognised for both her â¨blisteringly-precise vinyl-only â¨techno sets and her painstakingly professional approach to the craft⨠of DJing. Based in New York City⨠since 2013, Mary currently holds â¨a residency at Unter, a notoriously⨠secretive underground techno â¨party showcasing the best in local â¨and international talent. Also, in⨠2017, Mary launched her very⨠own record label called Monday⨠Off, where she curates and â¨presses work from artists that⨠explore techno’s trippier, more hypnotic side.
Mary has been fortunate enough to share the decks with many talented and internationally recognised musicians such as Marcel Dettmann, DVS1, Erika, Developer, Somewhen, Claudio PRC, Henning Baer, Xhin, Tommy Four Seven, Perc, Deadbeat, Anthony Parasole, Edit Select, Dino Sabatini, Norman Nodge and many others. She has been busily traveling the world and performing her unique take on techno musicâs deeper vibes at many noted clubs across the world, including Tresor, Arma 17, :// about blank, Distillery (Leipzig) and Output, to name only a few.
With an upcoming debut Los Angeles gig at COMPOUND Summer 2019 alongside Derrick May and Matrixxman, we took the time to have a 360-degree chat with Mary to find out what she has been up to.
