Chicago’s Legendary Birth of House Music, “The Warehouse”, is in Danger of Demolition

In 1975, nightlife organizer Robert Williams purchased a 1910s-era warehouse building at 206 S. Jefferson Street with hopes to transform it into a nightclub comparable to the best dancefloors in New York City where Williams was raised. After a two-year renovation and with one of best sound system available, the Warehouse opened as a three-level nightclub. At first a membership-only club frequented mostly by gay Black men, the Warehouse soon became a place of dancefloor freedom for not just the LGBTQ+ community, but a diverse crowd of Chicagoans brought together by their love of music. Endangered Welcomes Back Soma Soul for “Illusion of Control” Including Remix From Label-Boss Brian Cid

Endangered is excited to welcome back Swiss artist Soma Soul with a new 4- track EP called Illusion of Control and featuring a remix from label boss Brian Cid.

Just under a year ago, Zurich’s Soma Soul debuted on Endangered with a spectacular EP of cinematic techno. Since then, he’s had more music come out on Jonas Rathsman’s ELEMENTS, and Sabb’s RADIANT labels. In his return to Endangered, the Illusion of Control EP continues where the last one left off, and shows the evolution of an artist in a short period of time.

Global Vibe Radio 162 Feat. Brian Cid

The 162nd edition of Global Vibe Radio comes from Brooklyn-based DJ & producer, Endangered label-boss and Cityfox Resident Brian Cid. His original productions have found homes on a number of the most credible and tastemaking record labels, with a style that touches melodic techno, deep house, progressive house and more, with no boundaries whatsoever.

Brian’s debut album Meteorite Man has been released on the legendary label Balance Music, alongside his original productions that can be found on imprints such as Fabric, Audiofly’s Supernature, Guy J’s Lost & Found, Hot Since 82’s Knee Deep In Sound, Get Physical, microCastle, Manjumasi, Cityfox and more. Support on his music has come across the board from both longstanding DJ legends, as well as the new wave of club tastemakers. Everyone from Richie Hawtin, Pete Tong, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Lee Burridge, and Joris Voorn, to Adriatique, Dami an Lazarus, Thugfucker, and Tale of Us have championed the sounds of Cid.
