Complexed Records Boss Drumcomplex Delivers Hard-Hitting “Hear My Sound” EP

Drumcomplex, known for his releases on Eat’s Everythings “Ei8ht”, Monika Kruse’s “Terminal M” and Andre Crom’s “OFF Recordings, returns to his own imprint with another arresting production entitled “Hear My Sound”, a hard-hitting release that will light up just about any dancefloor it’s unleashed on.

Functional yet catchy, it encapsulates the German producer’s main ethos by showcasing a straightforward, spellbinding groove accented with a powerful vocal loop. Splattered with bleeps and fizzing synths, it keeps its dynamic factor on both tracks, whether the mood calls for a vocal or simply its robust, engrossing instrumental.

Track List:
1. Drumcomplex “Hear My Sound”
2. Drumcomplex “Hear My Sound” (Instrumental Version)

Premiere: Listen to Drumcomplex’s Remix of Maksim Dark’s “Sunfire” for Latest EP on Jannowitz Records

Jannowitz Records’ relationship with Maksim Dark has come a long way from the days Jannowitz first heard this uber-producer’s skills on imprints like Oliver Huntemann’s Sense and Dubfire’s Sci+Tec.

What has ensued is a series of releases on Jannowitz, culminating in this latest EP, titled Sunfire. A comparably small EP for Jannowitz standards, Surefire consists of two tracks and one remix by Drumcomplex, also a dear friend of the label and a more than well-known producer in Germany and beyond.

Here Drumcomplex takes “Sunfire” and creates his own version of it. His remix is more loopy, more tooly, taking the best parts of the original and creating a vibe with a stronger kick, less focus on the baseline and more on the dance floor.

Maksim Dark’s Sunfire EP is out April 15th on Jannowitz Records and available HERE

Drumcomplex Discusses Recently Released “Complex” EP on OFF Recordings

In the past 2 years, the label has featured the likes of Charlotte de Witte, Cari Lekebusch, Luca Agnelli, TWR72 and a selection of other well-known and emerging artists. The previous OFF Recordings release from DEAS picked up feedback and support from the likes of Slam, Pan-Pot, Adam Beyer, Cristian Varela and Amelie Lens.

This new release is from German born Arnd Reichow aka Drumcomplex, who recently contributed a remix to Man With No Shadow’s EP for OFF Recordings and is now back with his Complex EP.

Drumcomplex makes a welcome return with his debut solo release of original music, where his back catalogue also includes contributions to Carl Cox’s Intec, Traum, Bush, and his own Complexed Records.

Premiere: Listen to Drumcomplex & Roel Salemink’s “Syncronised” on Intec Digital

The latest release to come from Carl Cox and Jon Rundell’s Intec Digital label is a two-track EP entitled Blacklight from Drumcomplex & Roel Salemink, who since their first appearance on the label in 2014 have been two of Intec’s most popular artists.

Collaboratively the pair has also released music on Bush Records, Bulletdodge and Marco Bailey’s label MB Elektronics, and although both are respected solo artists in their own right, many would argue that their collaborative releases are some of their most exquisite.

Premiere: “Perfection” by Drumcomplex

Drumcomplex_Artist_Image_1_Web

On the 16th of August, DĂŒsseldorf’s Drumcomplex graced the decks of Space Ibiza’s covered terrace for Carl Cox’s Last Chapter summer of his Music Is Revolution residency. Before that, the techno duo project played gigs in Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Australia, UAE, India and of course their home country of Germany.

Brothers Daniel and Arnd Reichow divide the Drumcomplex workload, allowing for a perfect balance of work and relax. While Daniel, armed with a sound engineering degree, handles the professional record production output, Arnd takes the project on the road for gigs on the weekend. As a team, they have successfully released on Intec, Bush Records, MB Electronics, Complexed Records and KMS, gaining the support of techno giants like Carl Cox, Adam Beyer, Slam, Paco Osuna, Joseph Capriati, Danny Tenaglia, Marco Carola and The Advent.

This coming October 7th Drumcomplex are poised to step things up with the release of Perfection Is In Imperfection, an eleven-track LP out on Complexed Ltd. The album is inspired by a Japanese philosophy that underscores the appreciation of imperfection, based on the notion that nothing is truly finished, perfect or lasts forever.

Yet, the aptly-named album seems to suggest that the duo find perfection in every imperfection. We had the chance of chatting with Arnd ahead of the release, who also was kind enough to allow us to premiere the second track of the LP entitled “Perfection.”

Your album title Perfection Is In Imperfection is in itself a kind of oxymoron. Can you explain how you came up with it?

Perfection Is In Imperfection is inspired by the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-sabi, a concept which focuses on the appreciation of imperfection, things that are simple, rough, or incomplete. Wabi-sabi nurtures all that is authentic by acknowledging three simple realities: nothing lasts, nothing is finished, and nothing is perfect. I am a spiritual person and thats exactly how I see things, it’s not only music wise.

Is there a track on this album that you consider perfect?

That’s a really good question. When I have to choose one its Aphrodite.

Can techno ever be perfect?

I don’t think so. Techno for me came from punk music, a music which never used to be perfect. When you listen to a vinyl it will never sound “perfect”  — there are always crackles.

Is there a techno DJ that you consider “perfect,” an act that particularly inspires you in your career?

Yes for sure. There were lots of great artists who inspired me and surprised me with different styles and approaches to music. To name just a few, Speedy J, Chemical Bros, Underworld, Placebo, Metallica
I wasn’t especially into a specific kind of style. I just love energetic artists and performances.

What would be your perfect gig?

I had this perfect gig this summer when i played at Carl Cox’s Music Is Revolution at Space Ibiza. The treatment, the audience, the crew and the atmosphere were absolutely amazing. The level was really high, it’s hard to top this. When I think about what can be my perfect gig, it would be to play on a beach with a lot of friends when the sun rises, laying down some deeper stuff.
