Good music, good cause. More than 200 DJs are coming together to attempt the world record for the longest ever B2B DJ set. The world record attempt will take place in aid of charity on September 25.
The saying goes, “when you do good, you feel good,” and 2020 could certainly use a lot of good. It is a year to take a long hard look at how you’re showing up for not only yourself but others. Taking on issues from climate change to racial and health inequities artists are using their platforms to create more than music. These artists do good with the platforms they’ve created via music.
Free Ibiza vacations for healthcare workers. That is how a not-for-profit initiative set up on the island of Ibiza called Together for Healthcare Heroes plans to give back to those healthcare workers across Europe that have selflessly helped us all, even at risk to themselves and their own immediate loved ones. The COVID-19 crisis continues to impact people globally, with every country reporting major losses of life, whilst medical teams collectively strain to restore and sustain the health and wellbeing of our population.
Break The Silence stands in solidarity with Campaign Zero and the Black Lives Matter movement and all marginalized communities that have for too long faced injustice and inequity.
Featuring 14 unreleased tracks kindly donated by some of the finest voices in contemporary electronic music, this collection’s purpose is to raise as much money for and awareness of Campaign Zero’s mission to end police violence in America.
In the days and weeks since the tragic killings of Rayshard Brooks, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, Elijah McClain and countless others before them, Campaign Zero’s vision is a world where the police don’t kill people by limiting police interventions, improving community interactions, ensuring accountability and developing model legislation and advocacy.

Unfortunately, it sometimes seems the world only continues to grow worse.
Luckily for us, however, there are many individuals that aim to make this earth a better place for those around them.
We chose to highlight ten different DJs and producers in the dance music industry that are determined to leave this world in a better state than they found it. The below artists have been known to use their platforms and outreach potential to raise awareness and funds for charitable organizations and projects they feel are important to support. Our respect goes out to them for their efforts with the added encouragement that they continue to do good in their communities and for the philanthropic programs they hold dear.
In May we reported Seth Troxler would be climbing Kenya’s Kilimanjaro to raise awareness and contributions for the Australian Cure Brain Cancer Foundation’s (CBCF) “Million$Mission”. Last night, Seth took to Facebook to report he had survived the trek to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro stating, “Wow, we made it to the top – this has been the best July for me yet. The buzz of this is incredible, life changing. To do it for brain cancer is even more rewarding.” Seth came in just $2,997 shy of his $100,000 goal with a grand total of $97,003 contributed.
The climb began last Thursday and Seth was accompanied by nine other philanthropists, including CBCF’s founder and renowned Australian neurosurgeon, Charlie Teo. Here is Seth and what he had to say with the first team photo before their 19,000 foot ascent:
Each individual’s mission was to raise $100,000, and have collectively raised $1,210,627 dollars. Surpassing their $1 million dollar goal. Our hats come off for this one to all who participated. Mission complete.
Before you go, Seth is still auctioning 12 records from his vinyl collection for CBCF. Happy bidding!

On top of climbing Kilimanjaro to raise money for Cure Brain Cancer Foundation, Seth Troxler is now auctioning off part of his vinyl collection to raise money for the same charity.
The Detroit-raised producer and DJ will be selecting around two dozen of his personal favorite records from a variety of genres, all of which will go to the winning bidder.
All the money raised will go directly to Cure Brain Cancer and support their innovative research and clinical trials to help develop new treatments. To make the whole thing a little bit cooler, the winning bidder will be receiving the records from the UK via Ibiza, where they are located right now.
Enter the auction here. It starts today at 2pm PST.
