Q&A and Premiere: Alex Mine’s “Lost” Receives Remixes by Roberto Capuano and Carl Cox for Terminal M

Italy has its fair share of outstanding producers, and Alex Mine is one of those young talents that has been making a name for himself the last few years.

Rewind back to 2015, and this was the year that Alex actually produced the original track “Lost”, a track which remained homeless yet waiting to be unleashed on the right label. It wasn’t until he bumped into Monika Kruse whilst in Barcelona for Sonar, where she signed it after the first listen to her beloved Terminal M imprint.

Initial feedback was outstanding, but it really all started to happen when Carl Cox said he loved it, and wanted to do a remix, alongside fellow Italian producer Roberto Capuano. Carl drops a funky, chunky groove rework with tech house vibes, whilst Roberto throws in his techno cut. A hypnotic combination of synthetic movements, vocals and acid rhythms.

“I am very honored to have Carl and Roberto putting their hands on Alex Mine’s track ‘Lost’. And of course, Alex did a brand new 2018 edit for this package as well” – Monika Kruse

So, there you have it – 3 years later, the track comes to life, on Terminal M on the 20th August, with a re-edit from Alex himself, alongside two outstanding remixes, one of which we are proudly premiering today, on top of getting the chance to interview Alex himself.

Premiere: Christopher Coe Unleashes Second EP From Stunning Album “MNTNSofSLNC”

The second EP to be released from Christopher Coe’s stunning album MNTNSofSLNC and the 3rd release from the new label Awesome Soundwave, a partnership between Carl Cox and Coe.

“Let It Go” is the only track to feature Christopher’s vocals on the album and is a deep, driving and grooving meditation on a subject which we all need to get a grip on in one way or another… Or maybe not, maybe we need to let go worrying about it! Accompanied by two really different and dance floor glue remixes by Steve Mulder and the prolific and fully live artist Saytek, this pack is a powerful and diverse release which shows Coe’s prowess at making a tune that stands out and allows itself to be remixed nicely by some of the best the biz has to offer!

“This is the only tune with vocals from my album MNTNSofSLNC .. and, as such, perhaps the most intimate of the tracks.. It deals with loss and letting go.. a sad little ditty with hope..” – Christopher Coe

Luca De-Santo Drops Second EP on Carl Cox and Jon Rundell’s Intec Imprint for 2018

Intec in recent months championed a number of relatively new talents such as Brennen Grey, Carl Bee, Frazier and Rudosa. Each of whom have made their debut on the label in 2018, but out of all its rising stars, it seems Luca DeSanto’s light is shining brightest.

DJsounds Celebrate Kappa FuturFestival in Torino With New Short Film

Kappa FuturFestival is Italy’s biggest and best house and techno festival, and a new film by DJsounds shows just why. In it, the global video web channel DJsounds.com—which is now 10 years old—really captures how the huge event has evolved and grown over the years.

Starting over a decade ago, DJsounds.com is a global video web channel, producing feature interviews and event footage from around the globe, dedicated to the electronic music industry.  Established when online video of club culture was in its infancy, DJsounds has matured over 1,200 clips celebrating artists, parties and festivals across the globe. Now in 2017 – an age where every festival, club and artist create their own videos – rather than compete, we are also using our unique, impartial position to explore, investigate and uncover intriguing and fascinating facets of electronic music culture via longer length documentaries.

The film touches on the origins of the festival, the landmark performances and features interviews with the likes of Carl Cox, Fatboy Slim, Kölsch and Joseph Capriati. Festival director Maurizio Vitali also appears throughout and walks us through the huge industrial hangar that is the main arena for the festival, which was once an iron forgery

“There’s a freedom, it feels open here, you aren’t caged in anywhere,” says Carl Cox in the film, summing up the attitude of the crowd. “It’s been a lifestyle for many years, this music, the coming together of people from all over the country. But the locals wanted something with more substance, they wanted to look up to their heroes.”

Joseph Capriati adds, “Italians they give you their all, they are the most loyal supporters in the world.”

The film is a history lesson that offers some great scenes from this year’s event and taps into the Italian passion for house and techno, offering a great insight at just how special this festival is and what makes it so unique.

Picking up DJ residencies and playing for nights such as Defected In The House, Cream, and Ministry Of Sound, Olly has supported some of the world’s biggest DJ’s including Carl Cox who has signed him to Intec after spotting his talent both behind the decks and in the studio.

Olly, who now lives in Australia, has previously released on Rawsum, Hausity, Witty Tunes, plus Sam Devine’s label D-Vine Sounds. This collaboration with Carbon Electra showcases why Carl Cox considers him to be such a talent. Carbon Electra is a secretive artist making their debut release with this stunning collaborative EP.
