After years of work and months of promotion and road testing, Richie Hawtin has now fully unveiled the Model 1 mixer of his PLAYdifferently line. Previously, fans and DJ technology buffs had only seen partial pictures of the hardware that didn’t reveal much.

The mixer is now officially launched and available for pre-order on PLAYdifferently’s website for ÂŁ2500 plus ÂŁ50 flat rate shipping word wide. Orders will be shipping after June 30th. The official launch event will occur via live stream later today, courtesy of Boiler Room Berlin. Read more

The 31st of March is a special and bittersweet date for house music fans all over the world. I still remember exactly where I was in Chicago in 2014  when the city and the world were hit with the heart-breaking news that Frankie Knuckles, The Godfather of House, had passed away due to complications linked to a diabetes condition.

That date became significant for all House Music fans throughout the world, just as August 25th had been for a decade prior and continues to be today. In 2004, then Chicago Mayor Richard Daley declared August 25th to be Frankie Knuckles Day. The block where the Warehouse stood was renamed Frankie Knuckles Way and that evening 10,000 people poured into the city’s Grant Park to hear him play.

Watch Luciano Play An All-Vinyl Set Atop a Mountain

From Tulum to Berlin there have been countless amounts of world-class Boiler Room events. However, Luciano playing an all vinyl set at 11,000 feet in the Swiss Alps might just take the cake. On December 10th, 2015, the Cadenza master-mind curbed his usual Vagabundos groove and opted for more cerebral grooves overlooking the world from the mountains of Switzerland.

Throughout the two hour session Luciano selects prime tracks from the likes of Mathew Jonson, Moodymann, Tiger Stripes, Brothers Vibe, and many more, all complimenting each other perfectly with the serene mountain back drop. While it’s not a drum heavy workout, it’s a side of Luciano that is not often seen throughout the typical club circuit.
