Music festivals make plenty of green, but are they green enough? Itâs no secret music festivals produce an alarming number of waste and carbon emissions. In the United States alone festival-goers produce 53,000 tons of waste each year. While the pandemic forced many cancellations and burned holes in pockets, there was a COVID-19 silver lining. 569,790,848 pounds of single-use products didnât get used. Artists are taking note and planning for a greener return when touring music festivals and club shows.
The saying goes, “when you do good, you feel good,” and 2020 could certainly use a lot of good. It is a year to take a long hard look at how you’re showing up for not only yourself but others. Taking on issues from climate change to racial and health inequities artists are using their platforms to create more than music. These artists do good with the platforms they’ve created via music.

Vivie-Ann continuing as BLOND:ISH will bring a newly individual joy and spirituality through solo performances and recordings, while Anstascia will DJ under her own name and pursue other passions and her own personal mission to spread love through music.
