To celebrate the first year of her own imprint, BEC invites friends for remixes their favourite track from the releases on her label so far.
These remixes come from Deep Dimension, Mattia Trani, Rave and Peder Mannerfelt, and we have the exclusive premiere of Deep Dimension’s rework of BEC’s very own “Time Illusion.”
BEC is back on September 25th with the second release on her own imprint, titled Turning Point, this time showing off her purist, stripped back, hypnotic side.
“Turning Point” kicks off the 3 tracker with a mesmerizing, high-pitched synth line that becomes warped and intertwined by a more sinister euphony.
UK-born, Berlin-based producer BEC is fast becoming one of techno’s biggest rising talents. Having already released on Drumcode, Second State and Intec, 2020 looks set to be another big year, with releases lined up on Filth On Acid, Kneaded Pains, as well as a debut release on her own label, BEC. Today, BEC shares her top 5 influential tracks of the moment.
DJ and producer BEC, has had a string of successful releases signed under Pan-Pot’s Second State Audio and Carl Cox’s Intec Digital in the past years. She’s also been labeled as one of the most exciting newcomers by Pulse Radio and even got support from Charlotte De Witte who’s been performing back-to-back with her recently in Colombia.
More recently, she caught her ears with her latest EP Sines & Breaks on VOIGHT, now available on Beatport.
It seemed fitting then to not only feature this rising artist on our weekly Global Vibe Radio mix series but to sit down for a chat with her as things began heating up on her fall schedule.
British born Rebecca Godfrey, who is better known to Techno fans as BEC via her seminal releases on Pan-Pot’s label Second State, is the latest to release on Jon Rundell and Carl Cox’s Intec label with her Forward Motion EP.
Now living in Berlin, BEC has received critical acclaim from publications like Pulse Magazine who recently listed her alongside the likes of Helena Hauff, Dasha Rush and Rebekah as one of The Underground’s 10 Leading Ladies. It is no surprise then, that in 2017 she played gigs everywhere from London to Hong Kong and Barcelona to Berlin.
Including a release on Hydrozoa this is only her second release outside of Second State, so we took the time to chat with Rebecca in honor of her debut on Intec.
