Kraftwerk received a Music Excellence Award this weekend after they were inducted at the 2021 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame ceremony. Honored by Pharrell Williams, Depeche Mode’s Martin Gore, Run-DMC’s Darryl McDaniels, LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy, and the Human League’s Philip Oakey, the German four-piece received the award alongside LL Cool J, Billy Preston, and Randy Rhoads.
A host of British venues, theatres, museums and cultural organizations have been awarded the initial round of grants from Arts Council England as part of the Culture Recovery Fund, including Resident Advisor, Ministry of Sound, Corsica Studios, Village Underground and more.
Round one of the awards consists of 1,385 awards under £1 million have been made, totalling more than £257 million. The overall program aims to give out £500 million of relief support for cultural organisations based in England.
