Time Warp Photo Gallery: Relive 2019 U.S. Edition of the German Festival
This past weekend one of the worldâs biggest electronic music brands, Germanyâs Time Warp, returned to the United States after a four-year hiatus.
The anticipation was worth the wait for the several thousand North American electronic music fans who poured into The Bronx in New York City for the two-night festivities organized in liaison with local promoter Teksupport. In the 25 years since Time Warp was founded in Mannheim, Germanyâwhere it celebrated its quarter-century birthday earlier in the yearâthe festival has consistently set a golden standard for immersive stage production and an equally mind-blowing lineup. Throughout the years the festival has hosted the who’s who of techno, house, tech house and minimal, from heavyweight names that have shaped the history of underground electronic music across several decades, to up-and-comers and future leaders of their respective sounds.

Next week, on November 22nd and 23rd 2019, Time Warp returns to the United States with the collaboration of local New York City promoters Teksupport.

Fortunate to grow up around the rich club culture of NYC and influenced by the sounds around him, Avision now finds himself helping to usher in a new wave of techno for the New York scene. Over the last year, heâs had releases on a range of influential labels like Alan Fitzpatrickâs We Are The Brave, Ben Simsâ Hardgroove & Machine, Pan Potâs Second State, Mark Broomâs Beardman Records, Carl Coxâs Intec, Cassyâs Kwench Records, Victor Calderoneâs Matter+, On Edge Society, and Inmotion LTD.
Avision started young on the turntables at age 12, and his preference for a more mature sound lead to his first residency in New Jersey by the time he was 15. Recent touring highlights include gigs at The Brooklyn Mirage, Output, Flash Factory, Schimanski and the Mixmag Lab in NYC, Stereo in Montreal, Nest in Toronto, Space & Heart in Miami, as well as festivals like Amsterdam Dance Event, Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas and Electric Zoo. Avisionâs legacy is growing through club land like a supernova exploding in the farthest reaches of our galaxyâŠand heâs just getting started.

Avision: 5 Techno Anthems That Have Been Killing NYC Dance Floors
Avisionâs 2017 was a constant steady rise, to say the least. At only 24 years old and with a sound mature beyond those years, the New York native helped usher in a new wave of techno with a string of releases that have been supported by the biggest and best names in the world. Throughout this year, Avision has released on tastemaker imprints including Carl Coxâs Intec Digital, Mark Broomâs Beardman and Victor Calderoneâs Matter+. Closing out the year, Avision made his debut on Carlo Lio and Kareem Caliâs On Edge Society with the outstanding Clips EP, comprised of four banging techno tracks aimed right for the dance floor.
