Amsterdam Opens New Electronic Music Museum: Our House

Amsterdam is opening a new electronic music museum called Our House. It’s slated to open its doors on Friday, October 29. Billed as “the world’s first modern museum” dedicated to electronic music, Our House will span six exhibitions and 15 installations, including photo galleries, interactive vinyl players, documentaries, flyers, drum machines and a closing 4D audiovisual experience called “The Culture Ride.”

De School Closing

Amsterdam’s De School Is Permanently Closing Due to Pandemic

One of the world’s leading underground nightclubs, Amsterdam’s De School is permanently closing.

Today, club co-owner Jochem Doornbusch released a statement detailing how the Coronavirus pandemic has made the survival of the club financially impossible. “The bottom line is that the debts are piling up,” he stated. “Not only because of the uncovered staff cost, but also the other ongoing costs. Acting now and making this very difficult decision may prevent the total bankruptcy of our company Post CS (11, TROUW).” In the statement, Doornbusch does note that the bar, restaurant and terrace will remain open.

Reaktor Events, Amsterdam’s top promoters of dark and experimental techno, start the year off with March’s Unpolished 2020 festival.

In its eighth year, Unpolished 2020 will bring over 20 global acts over just two days. With a mix of DJ and live sets, Reaktor Events will transform the large Warehouse Elementenstraat venue into a three-stage techno haven. Tahko has been around in the underground techno scene for some years now and has made a huge impression on numerous artists and events.

With his passionate love for music, he takes the audience on a journey into his own world with a fusion of grooves with deep hypnotic rhythms. So far, he has performed at Tresor, Tomorrowland, Day-On Festival, Kompass Klub, Verknipt, Thuishaven, Labyrinth Club, Decadance, Welcome To The Future, Toffler and ADE Amsterdam, at times alongside some of the world’s techno best such as Industrialyzer, Marco Bailey, Flug, Cari Lekebusch, Gary Beck, Charlotte de Witte and many more.

Amsterdam’s Loveland Festival Announces Cirez D, Len Faki, Dixon, Jeff Mills for 2018

Loveland Festival, Amsterdam’s premier dance festival has announced its full artist lineup for its now expanded program.

Now spanning two days, Loveland will be held this year at the glorious Sloterpark in Amsterdam, right next to the glistening Sloterplas lake of Amsterdam. Also, for the first time ever, Loveland will become into a 2 day festival, from August 11 to 12. As such, the festival takes advantage of the rich landscape of the park, with lakes, 6 stages and a production that promises to be a memorable event.

Diynamic Festival Returns to Amsterdam for 2018 Edition

The Diynamic Festival is set to return to the magical Amsterdam forest on May 25, 2018.

Going on its sixth edition, the festival is set to bring 11 hours of the finest music of Solomun’s world-famous label imprint.
