The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), the world’s largest festival and the most important global business conference for electronic music, announced its second selection of artists today. Among them are Amelie Lens (BE), Axwell / Ingrosso (SE), Broederliefde (NL), CIFIKA (KR), Kiasmos (IS), Oliver Heldens (NL), Ricardo Villalobos (CL) and Sasha (UK).
As always, ADE’s LIVE programming is one of the most exciting part of what is now not only the world’s largest club festival, but also the most important business platform for electronic music in the globe.
For the past three years, live music has had an important position within the ADE festival program through ADE LIVE. Paradiso, Melkweg and Sugar Factory join forces again this year during the two-day program, allowing visitors to discover the latest electronic live acts and honor established names in our scene.
Last year, renowned artists like Fatima Yamaha, Hercules & Love Affair and Marian Hill played next to (then) emerging acts such as Nambyar, Phlake and Témé Tan and showed that electronic live music deserves a prominent place within ADE’s offering.
This year’s program will leave an even bigger mark on our festival program, thanks to the queen of nu-disco: Róisín Murphy. Ever since her Moloko days, the Irish vocalist has been able to innovate and surprise us with her unusual pop music. Together with the synth-heavy electro music of Agar Agar, the punky techno of Red Axes [live] and the dreamscapes of Eefje de Visser, the third edition of ADE LIVE promises yet again to offer a wide range of musical talent.

Among those announced are Bonobo, Charlotte de Witte, Colin Benders, GAIA, Jeff Mills, Laurent Garnier, Martin Garrix, Nina Kraviz, Orbital, Peggy Gou, and Richie Hawtin, among a stellar, diverse lineup of artists from across the globe.

Once again the organizers behind the massive yearly event are expecting roughly 400,000 national and international visitors for what is set to be another record-breaking year.
2018 will see a series of activities with focus on the South Korea market. ADE Director Richard Zijlma states:
“The South Korean electronic music scene is growing rapidly, thanks to technological innovation and smart crossovers. During ADE we will focus on the very best the country has to offer across a wide range of festival and conference events.”
Last year the event drew massive crowds, all of whom came to see over 2,500 artists and 550 speakers in a record breaking 160 venues across the beautiful city of Amsterdam. It is no surprise, then, that Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), an initiative of Buma, is the world’s largest club-based festival and conference for electronic music. Visitors from over 90 countries flocked to the liberal city, with music from every conceivable aspect of the electronic spectrum featured.
The organisers are committed to growing the day and nighttime activities once again in 2018 through established partnerships with cultural institutions, and by adding new pavilions focused on countries, as Zijlma points out:
“The addition of pavilions creates extra possibilities to meet and network for music industry professionals but also provides a means to show the innovative power of individual territories in front of an international audience.”

Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) has always been a highly anticipated event each year, always managing to exceed expectations of everyone who gets to experience it. This year’s ADE was no exception.
Once again, Amsterdam was buzzing with so much activity taking place all over the unique city over the course of 5 days. The stacked schedule included a flurry of conferences and music performances throughout the day and night, as well as special panels and showcases for the entire electronic music industry to benefit from.
There was so much going on that words are not enough to describe how awesome this year’s ADE was. Instead, we thought we would let some of these great photos fill you in on what happened at ADE 2017.
The recent edition of Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) held this past October 18-22 was an astounding success with organizers reporting a record 395,000 people who attended the five-day event.
Marking its 21st year, ADE has cemented its position as the leading global platform for electronic music. Around 7,200 representatives from over 90 countries participated in this year’s electronic music conference while China hosted a special pavilion to showcase the country’s electronic music scene, a first for ADE. In addition, Morocco was chosen to be spotlighted in this year’s ADE Global View, highlighting its growing and unique music scene that is beginning to be noticed across the globe.
On the music side, there were more DJs that took part in the ADE Soundlab than ever before. Artists like Martin Garrix, Richie Hawtin, Soulwax and Tiga, Surgeon, Lady Starlight and Oliver Heldens gave an insight into their DJ and studio set ups. Meanwhile night program also included some “cross-overs” with other genres with special productions at unique locations including Underworld performing at the cycle passage of Rijksmuseum and Colin Benders at Rembrandthuis.
These past few days, the organizers behind Amsterdam Dance Event, the twenty-year old event that gathers together the global electronic music community in the Dutch capital, have been busy preparing for the festival set to take place next week. This has gotten people excited once more, as music genres will cross over in an open and receptive environment that Amsterdam offers. Indeed, ADE provides a strong sense of inclusiveness and the desire to let itself be infected by what spontaneously confronts us every single day, at the level of art, entertainment and innovation.
In addition to the usual, huge musical programme that will try to break the already monumental figures of last year (2200 artists involved in more than 500 events) and an equally vast day program of panels, workshops, hands-on activities, and interactions with other musicians and fans, attendees can expect to be able to grab a beer and indulge in what goes on throughout the event that has been steadily progressing year after year, not only artistically but also economically.
As it has been for a few years now, we at 6AM will not miss the opportunity to witness what without doubt is going to be one of the year’s massive events. Not only do we look forward to the artists performing at the event. We also look forward to the positive developments that can possibly occur as we enjoy the music that will be played there.
After we went last year we returned to Los Angeles hungrier than ever. We were hungry to do more, and to do better. We were inspired by the events, the artists who played, the panels and the way the entire city embraced electronic music as one. A testament to that has been our series of WORK by 6AM and Synthetik Minds events, as well as the launch of COMPOUND 2017.
We know we will feel the same way as we make our return in just under two weeks. But until then, we ready up for what is bound to be a full 6 days of immersion split between meetings, artist interviews, conferences and out-of-this-world techno and house events.

Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), the world’s largest club festival and the most important business conference for electronic music, has announced its finalized program that will be happening on October 18-22.
ADE 2017 will see a record-breaking 2,500 artists and 550 speakers participating in over 450 events within the 5-day period. An estimated 375,000 visitors are expected to come for event’s 22nd edition. This is a significant improvement from last year’s record of 2,200 artists and 550 speakers in 140 locations. With more events in place during the ADE, the organizers are also focused on the further expansion of its daytime and early evening activities. In addition, a couple of conferences are slated for the ADE for the first time, technology conference ADE Tech and the ADE Hangover, which will be part of the daily activities.
