In Interview with Voxnox Mainstay Alignment

Orderly Chaos is the latest EP on Voxnox from Alignment, a techno artist whose every release sends a clear message that he is here to stay.

The Italian DJ/producer is a Voxnox mainstay, but has also caught the eyes and ears of many other well-established techno artists, including Charlotte de Witte who hosted his “Nothingness” and “Time” EPs on her KNTXT imprint, and Regal’s Involve Records, where he released His EP titled “1992.” His tracks have received regular support from the upper echelons of techno, including Richie Hawtin, Ben Klock, Chris Liebing and Amelie Lens, with the latter including his collaboration with Regal in her fabric mix compilation.

We caught up with man-of-the-moment Alignment to discuss what he has been up to and specifically to chat about his love affair with the Voxnox family.

Getting To Know Alignment

In the past several years Alignment, whose real name is Francesco Pier, has surfaced as a new name in the European techno scene.

The meaning of the name Alignment is found in the concept of inner orientation, a journey of the dark corners of one’s inner self. His music, which is defined by dark basselines, pumping kickdrums, sinister industrial noises and reverberating synths, brings his vision to life. The soundscapes of Alignment’s productions and live performances put listeners into a trance, catapulting them into a post-apocalyptic warehouse setting where the party seemingly has no end.
