Ansome Returns to Perc Trax for Second Album, “Hounds Of The Harbour”

Perc Trax’s resident sonic explorer, modular innovator and all round Cornish bad boy Ansome returns to the label for his second album, following on from 2016’s Stowaway. Thankfully a move to Berlin a few years ago has not dulled or diluted his sound as he returns sharper and more focussed than ever.

In the three years since Stowaway he has toured the world as a live act, a DJ and also with his collaborative performances with Perc. Away from clubs and festivals he has stirred up a hornet’s nest of online opinion with his British Steel EP and continued to grow his own SLAM label into an essential source of uncompromising techno.

Premiere: Listen to “Meeting You” by Miyagi with Lazarusman

“Meeting You” comes from Miyagi‘s forthcoming Scene From A Dream album on his label Lost Diaries, out on Nov 20th.

Open your eyes. See the focus and the fade come into view, a swirl of once was and now is no longer. There is a road that leads to nothing, and inside there is something opening up. It takes a moment, a breath, a sharp inhale, before you know it: the dream has begun. Your fingers are flowers, your hair the cool rain on the grass. You and me, we are not the strangest things here. We are stranger than sound, than sight, than thought. What is hidden here, behind that mist that slips into your very thoughts? A heartbeat made material, and yet… something beating far beyond. A dream, you think… a dream where the universe itself moans and twitches, knitting together a vision of something new and unseen. In a world of fabricated realness, you have touched the thrumming veins of true being. You remember the will-be, the am, and ‘I am.’ I am the firefly in the night, the shooting star, the swirl of something that is nothing and everything at once. I am you, you are me. We are.

An avid collector of old folk LPs and 45rpm records, his quest for forgotten ethnic sounds now comes full circle as he present a whole world of them in this fresh electronic album in an “Ethnic House” style. Each track’s name represents a remote village in Morocco, from which the “Ahwach” of that region preserve their authentic chants, music and performance for centuries.

Moby Releases Album Via Satirical Anti-Trump Press Release

That Moby does not approve of Donald Trump shouldn’t come as a surprise, nor should the fact that he has used his hard stance against the current President of the United States to announce his latest LP.

Available now for download, More Fast Songs About The Apocalypse is the second album to come from Moby’s band, Void Pacific Choir following their debut with These Systems Are Failing. The announcement on the release came through a satirical White House press release in the form of a video by John Miller, “a publicist that Donald Trump invented in the 1980s to speak to reporters on the phone.”

Q&A and Premiere: Daniel Boon Releases Debut Album “Boon & Bane” on Neuhain Recordings

Boon & Bane is an exciting long player of Berlin techno DJ/Producer, Daniel Boon, a highly intelligent man who likes to think outside the box, creating a unique blend of underground sounds. His long-awaited first album which have been carefully built over the last year, reveals Daniel Boon’s widely rich musical identity through 10 awe-inspiring tracks!

The debut album comes out comes out on his own imprint Neuhain Recordings, a techno label with recent releases from David Ternessi, Crazy
Sonic and Superstrobe. Boon is responsible for numerous parties throughout Berlin in the late ’90s and early to mid 2000s, including club nights at the legendary old Tresor club and the now closed Maria Am Ostbahnhof. Furthermore Boon also founded Ostfunk Records with Oliver Tatsch in 2005 which became one of Berlin’s leading techno labels.

Boon & Bane is an exploration of textures. Each track has its own sonic character whether that’s the growling rumbles in “Fade Array” or the noise explosions in “Inside Symmetry”. The percussion is warm and expertly laid, often within the form of polyrhythms. “Demand Echoes” for example
bleeps in and out while carrying a crunch of a clap which is a welcome theme throughout. The reverse synth percs in Fallback Audio show Boon’s minimalistic calibre while tracks like “Rattle Blade” and “Shadow Forecast’s” vocal-use give rave nostalgia. “Humo Routine” sticks out as a garage house influenced shuffle techno hybrid with a wobble-esque bassline, perfectly giving the middle of the album a breath.

We spoke to Daniel ahead of the forthcoming release, from which we are also premiering “Rattle Blade”
