Roland is about to release its latest hardware synth.
The SH-4d is a multi-timbral desktop module with a built-in sequencer and drum machine. It’s the latest in the SH range, which launched 50 years ago with the Japanese company’s first synth, the SH-1000.
The SH-4d features Roland’s analogue modelling sound creation with 11 oscillator modes including wavetable and wave-drawing, as well as emulations of vintage synths such as the SH-101 and Juno-106. Its 32 knobs and four sliders have motion detectors so you can record tweaks and modulations, and there’s a matrix for routing the LFO and envelope to various destinations.
Watch Carl Craig demonstrate the SH-4d.
The Sh-4d will be available in March, 2023, for €629 or $649.99.
