Hey Salvione, 2023 is here and we’d like to know what are your hopes for this year regarding your music career?

I’m coming out of 2022 with some serious momentum so my hopes are really high for 2023. I’m looking to have a full release schedule and a few international tours next year.

What are your top 3 resolutions for this new year?

  • Show and give as much love to people as I can.
  • Surrender to the flow of life.
  • Be as present as much possible each day. Even in what would be considered mundane tasks.

Do you have any releases in the pipelines for the upcoming months?

I do not at the moment, but I am sitting on a bunch of tracks which I am about to start shopping around so 2023 should be full of new music from me.

If you could pick any event, any stage, any place: where would you like to perform in 2023?

Elrow Ibiza. No question.

And following on from that, if the world was your oyster for selection, who would you like to collaborate with this new year?

I would love to collaborate with Nic Fanciulli. He is one of the best out there and a big musical influence of mine. Outside of house music I’d love to collaborate with Cory Henry who is one of the best jazz piano players this world might ever see.

Are there any new hobbies or activities you’d like to try in 2023?

Maybe basket weaving or knitting… nah I’m kidding. I think this might be the year I get into boxing.

Are there any new skills or new gear that you’d like to implement to your studio in 2023?

I told my fiancé I wouldn’t add anything else that makes noise to the studio until after the wedding, but I really have been eyeing the Elektron Analog Rytm for years, and I think one more drum machine to add to the other 3 would really round out all of my needs.

From a production standpoint, what would you say is the number one area you would like/need to invest time into in order to develop your production level?

My production skills are pretty top notch with all of the schooling and experience throughout the years but I am still always looking to improve so I would say mastering through analog gear. Currently, I master in the box but I really would love to learn how to master through outboard gear. My good friend Derek Rusinak is a beast of a mastering engineer at Engine Room in NYC, so I’m going to see about being his apprentice for a bit this year.

Any new genres you’d like to explore next year?

I feel like I have really developed my sound this last year. I plan to stay right in that lane and really drive it home on what to expect when you see my name on a track.

New sub-genres come and go into fashion every year, what are your predictions for 2023?

That is so tough to predict. There has been a rise in popularity of the whole Minimal, RnB, Hip Hop vocal thing but I think by the end of the 2023 people will have moved on from this the same way we all moved from it in the 2012-2013 Deep House days but what do I know. You really never know what the next thing is and that is why I just stick to my sound instead of chasing trends. I may take inspiration from newer sub genres but I always try to stay true to me.

Besides yourself, which artists or labels should people follow this year?

In terms of labels, I would say that 303Lovers, CID’s Night Service Only, Baikonur, La Pera, RIM, and Farris Wheel. I loved what these labels were doing in 2022 and they would be on my absolute watchlist next year for sure. When it comes to artists, I think people should be following Knober, Luigi Rocca, Tone Troy, Hassio, and N-Telekia.

Make a prediction for 2023 about the world or music and we’ll try and catch you this time next year to see if it came true!

I think you are going to start seeing parties in more intimate settings. These parties and production keep getting bigger and bigger but there has to be a limit. It’s refreshing to connect with a crowd in a smaller setting. I think we’re going to see a return of DJs playing longer sets in smaller venues. It will be more about the music and the connection between DJ and party-goer. It will be people there for the music not for the show.

Do you have a message for your followers for new year?

I would just like to say thank you to everyone who supported me in 2022. I am really grateful for everyone who bought or streamed my music, came to one of my gigs, or reached out to me this past year. For the new year, I would just like to say please be kind to others. You never know what other people are going through. Mental health issues are real. Depression is real. They don’t always appear the same. Sometimes just being kind to someone can really help them get through the day and you may not even know it.
