Glasgow techno stalwarts Quail and AISHA are back on home turf for their third release on Soma Records with the Sunna EP. Following up last yearâs Leatherbound EP the pairâs collective works have brought around three new hard-hitting, banging tracks that merge their love of technoâs various disciplines into one cohesive pack.
Title track Sunna offers up the EPâs darker and more sinister tone. Heavy kicks and fierce rolling synths drive across this propellant track. Gower has a more upbeat feel but the duo keep things dance floor ready with their typically hard and fast style; layering up percussion steadily as a twisted synth hook steadily unfolds throughout. Stim closes out the EP and has the Glasgow-based duo on a slightly deeper and contemplative tip. Sturdy percussive workouts are the backbone of the track while atmospheric, morphing pads and synths take control as the soul of the track. Quail and Aisha have been resident DJs for Animal Farm as they work together to bring Soma their best yet.
