From Talavera de la Reina, electronic music producer and DJ Miguel Lobo has crafted a house sound underpinned by distinctive percussive grooves. Announcing his forthcoming âMoving Facesâ LP on Yousefâs seminal imprint Circus Recordings last month with his âStay Awake/Another Dayâ EP, he now provides a second glimpse into the forthcoming album with âNo Plans / Set Me Freeâ EP.
Drawing from his musical and life experiences across the forthcoming album project, Miguelâs âNo Plans/Set Me Freeâ EP explores themes of spirituality that underpin both Miguelâs day to day life and his way with music.
Connecting most notably with those spiritual themes is âSet Me Freeâ. Working with Pepe Mateos and featuring Elle Blink, the track dives into the dualism traditional cultures have in regard to relationships, along with the idea of freedom in those relationships. Expressed via haunting vocals and energetic melody. Collaborating with Shyam P on âNo Plansâ, dark and moody vocals from Shyam float over warped synth arrangements and driving percussive energy to deliver a smooth and sophisticated groover.
