Premiere: Listen to “Blossom” from Tristan de Liège’s Forthcoming “小雨” (Kosame) LP

The next LOCI release is from Tristan de Liège who serves up an immaculate blend of experimental electronic/downtempo bliss. His new single “Jioni” was released last week and next up is “Blossoms.”

It’s easy to see how Tristan has been inspired by some of his favorite artists, which include Bonobo, Four Tet, Radio Citizen, and The Cinematic Orchestra, all the while maintaining distinct and signature sound that sets him apart from his peers.

“I wanted to capture a sense of barely contained energy that has nowhere to go.” – Tristan de Liège

As you can hear on exclusive premiere of “Blossom” and throughout Tristan’s upcoming LP, incorporates a wide variety of sounds and genres, taking inspiration from classical genres such as bossa nova, trip-hop, hip-hop, jazz, post-rock, film scores, Baroque music, and ambient electronica that feels very intentional yet also organic, open, and textured.

Tristan creates his own samples from field recordings and also plays many of the instruments on his releases, such as woodwinds (bass clarinet, flute, tenor saxophone), plucked strings (guitars, mandolin, bass), and percussion.

His forthcoming LP 小雨 (Kosame) means “light” or “gentle” rain in Japanes. It is an interesting concept for a specific kind of soft rain you might find on spring mornings, a specific idea or concept that only the Japanese word could perfectly describe. It小雨 (Kosame) will be released on April 13.
