Unity Records introduced a brand new EP from Barbuto and Da Fresh, comprised of two collab singles.
Austin, Texas-based DJ & Producer Barbuto has partnered with Freshin Records label boss Da Fresh to produce a slick two-track techno EP that harnesses the combined power of the duo’s formidable talents.
Title track Guided Perception commands attention from the outset, bursting forth with a tempo that invokes peak-time dancefloor energy. Laced with flourishes of haunting acid rave-style vocals and swampy synth lines, it’s a production that is both melodic and fiercely relentless. Clocking in at just over six and half minutes in length, the track expertly pairs Barbuto’s unique brand of groove-laden techno with DaFresh’s knack for big room club bangers.
“Zig Zag” adopts more of a tech house vibe with a swinging beat augmented by crisp percussion and thoughtful variations in rhythm. A cerebral journey that draws the listener in as the track builds momentum, Zig Zag is a cleverly-crafted counterpoint to the EP’s more aggressive opener.
The Guided Perception EP will be released on Unity Records, a label based out of Toronto focusing on the best underground techno and tech house, and is available for pre-order on Beatport.
