Archie Hamilton’s Moscow Records invites Mennie for his first solo release of 2019, featuring two spacey cuts in the form of Proxima.
Joining Moscow Records following releases on Poker Flat, Infuse and Rawax, Mennie is a regular DJ at Florence’s Tenax Club when not performing across Europe including appearances in the UK, France, Germany and Spain. Alongside Julien Sandre, the Italian producer is also one half of Jarau and together they’ve released on labels like One Records, Visionquest and Pleasure Zone.
We asked the Italian producer/DJ to share 5 of his favorite records, the ones that never leave his record bag:
For sure one of the vinyl that influenced my career the most. I got this from a friend and I was looking for this for a while because I still consider this a masterpiece of a non common interpretation of 303 bass line. Every time I play this I literally have goosebumps and every time I listen to this record I can always hear new details.
I think I should buy some other copies of this record since I have played this so many times expecially when I play for a big opening. The suspense created in the first part is something amazing and when the bass line drops in I always see the dancefloor on fire…I feel this so sexy and this one will never leave my bag for sure!!!
I have a very large collection of the Point G discography and this is one of those records I always have in my bag. I really love the underground atmosphere that this record creates every time I play. His hypnotic taste created by vocals and bass line can’t stop you dancing.
I often play this record during the opening at Tenax and I’m so in love with this that I have done an edit thats fits into my style, maintaining the flavour of the swinging groove and the magic of the acid parts that simply drive me crazy all the time.
What to say…all the time I play this record it’s like a journey into the groove. It’s a neverending grooving mix evolving continuously without being repetitive and keeping his musicality.
