For this week’s 127th edition of Global Vibe Radio we travel to Ukraine to welcome Anderholm, one of the most buzzed-about artists in house music today.
Following his recent collaboration EP with Lane 8, Ukranian producer Anderholm has now released Flight Of The Sparrow, a mini album via Lane 8’s This Never Happened imprint.
A head nod to classical house records by way of percussive foundations and courageous basslines, the body of work acts as a refreshing release for the world of contemporary electronica. These tracks are heavily featured on this GVR mix, as you can see from the track listing at the end of the article.
Anderholm takes a left field approach to his compositions, using samples less frequently heard and piling oceans of sonic textures in inventive ways––including a creative lacing of white and pink noise throughout his already lively soundscapes. Anderholm holds off on vocal treatments and fills that space with arpeggiated melodies and emotive basslines through VST and analog gear alike.
Flight Of The Sparrow is Anderholm’s 3rd release via This Never Happened, and acts as the up and comer’s first steps into the world of extended play releases. May of this year saw Anderholm support Lane 8 on his tour stops in Amsterdam and Warsaw where they played to crowds of over 1000 people.
