Los Angeles production duo Freddy Be and Savi Leon join forces for their debut on Ki Creighton’s Under No Illusion label.
The four-track Benevolence EP includes a mesmerizing new single from the two veteran artists, as well as three distinct remixes from the likes of West Coast house legend Doc Martin, East Coast producer Joeski and label-boss Ki Creighton.
The original itself is a dreamy piece that is bound to capture dance floors for the rest of summer and beyond. Already armed with the support of industry titans the likes of Sasha, Groove Armada, Josh Butler, Huxley, Marques Wyatt, Technasia, Joris Voorn and Dennis Ferrer, “Benevolence” is beautifully and seductive, and immediately transports listeners to the familiar dance floors of Ibiza. Perfect to set the mood or to end a set in alluring style, the track is built upon a tribal rhythm and captivating vocal sample, as well as entrancing piano notes throughout.
The remixes are all individual renditions worthy of play in their own right. Joeski’s re-work is a deeper and darker affair filled with new instrumentation that makes this stand out from the original. Ki Creighton’s version is tech-house to its core, carried forward by a sub baseline and groovy perc loops. Rounding of the EP is Doc Martin and his characteristic sound, a remix filled with acid stabs and analogue baselines.
