Experimental artist Coarses is dropping two dub techno tracks in his latest EP Bolthouse. Darkroom Bureau is where the artist has found a home for his recent release.
Coarses is a Cleveland-based techno producer who, for Bolthouse, turned to dub from drone for only a moment to deliver deep kicks and basslines. The expanse of spacious chords and noise build into driving kicks and a sharp bassline warming the cool shatter of glass shard hi-hats. Bolthouse embodies the artist’s signature ethereal style of vocal manipulation. The result is the story of a goddess spirit echoing a dark grace between two planes—the familiar and unfamiliar.
