Emanuele Colucci Debuts on Clock Poets Digital

Following an inaugural EP from label heads Døob, Armie and Javi Green, Clock Poets Digital follows it up with an equally excellent new offering from Italian Emanuele Colucci.

Colucci started out as a DJ and soon progressed to making his own music. Honing in on his own unique brand of minimal, he went on to set up the net label Illogical Kit and explore darker ambient soundscapes as Heman Colu. Under his given name, though, he mixes up those influences with a more direct and dynamic dance floor style that takes cues from the likes of Plastikman and Ricardo Villalobos.

Opening the EP is ‘Et Ainsi De Suite’, a slick, up-tempo minimal track with perfectly rubbery drums driving things along. Alien sounds and cosmic pads add a sense of scale and atmosphere and keep you utterly locked throughout.

The deliciously deep and dreamy ‘Appena Sveglio’ that marries blissful ambient synth work with perfectly programmed drums that are frictionless and seductive as they journey to the edge of the cosmos.

The adventurous closer ‘Everyday’ has a more unsettling vibe, with thudding kicks setting a paranoid mood as suspense-filled pads rise and fall to bring the tension.

This is a cinematic EP that pairs plenty of heady invention with the sort of compelling grooves that are perfect for cosy and connoisseur dance floors.
