Remember that meme floating around last year that hinted at a 2030 where just about everybody was a DJ? We do, and judging by the increasing popularity of the art it would appear that our world is right on schedule to make that happen.
Last night, Microsoft founder Bill Gates was a guest on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon alongside his wife Melinda, where they spoke about the Annual Letter from their Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Surprisingly, the presentation included a special behind-the-decks performance by Mr. Gates himself.
While the charitable work of his foundation is nothing but commendable, the same cannot arguably be said of Gates’ vinyl scratching skills.
Considering the fact that 2016’s letter is aimed at teenagers, we can perhaps forgive Gates’ idea of approaching the target demographic by going down the electronic dance music path. It sure has a lot of people looking, and that cannot be anything but beneficial for the cause at hand.
On top of getting behind the decks, Gates decided to show the world some of his moves on the dance floor. While it is more likely than not that a stunt double was used, Gates’ attempt to come across as hip and get people talking worked, and worked well.
