Noted Berghain bouncer Sven Marquardt makes a cameo appearance in the fourth John Wick film.
Released this weekend in the US, John Wick: Chapter 4 tells the story of embattled assassin John Wick (Keanu Reeves), who is attempting to free himself from his obligations to a shadowy syndicate known as The High Table. Other cast members include Donnie Yen, singer Rina Sawayama and Laurence Fishburne.
Marquardt plays Klaus, an associate of Wick’s family, who leads him to a crime lord he must kill. Klaus’s only line is “I Am Klaus,” repeated several times.
Part of the movie takes place and was filmed in Berlin, including a fight scene in a nightclub that resembles Berghain with overflowing water features. The official soundtrack includes music by Justice, Gesaffelstein and Powder, who contributes her 2019 track “New Tribe.”
As well as being Berlin’s most infamous bouncer, Marquardt is a fine artist and photographer, whose work has been exhibited around the world.
