Benga, one of dubstep’s original producers, is making a splash back into the scene this year with a bassy rendition titled Future Funk EP. After opening up about his battle with mental illness, Benga is returning in full glory with a gig at Fabric London alongside Pinch, Mumdance, Acre and Ipman for a Techtonic takeover on February 12, his first gig since taking a much needed break two years ago.
The eagerly anticipated three-track EP is turning out to be a bass-driven dancer’s dream. The Make Moves track below has a couple of acid lines that bite and kick relentlessly, seriously making some smooth moves on the listener. The jumpy drum kick matched with an electric bass sound retains the essence of Benga’s spirit, both hardy and deep.
