Andrea Oliva is one of Switzerland’s most successful musicians in recent years and also one of the founding members of ANTS, one of Ibiza’s longest running and most successful club nights – he is also still heavily involved with the brand’s direction and events and has this year lined-up the likes of Steve Lawler, Solardo, Timo Maas, Joris Voorn, amongst others.
Andrea has recently finished up his busiest and most successful year to date. In 2018 alone he has completed a sold-out US tour, played b2b with Black Coffee, continued his ANTS residency and released his acclaimed Terrace EP. He will be in NYC on 23rd March for Steve Lawler Presents at Avant Gardner, and then at Resistance Miami on the 29th of March.
We asked Andrea to share his five current favorite records ahead of his visit Stateside:
This is one of my favorite records – one of those tracks you can play at any time of the night or morning. It’s raw, cool, powerful, deep and then there are the classic chords. A beauty!
This track is a like a love story – very timeless and emotional. if you’re looking for a track that takes you on a trip, then this is the one.
I have closed many sets with this one. Every time I listen to this track I feel like it takes me back in time. The vocal is extra class! A romantic, funky bad ass tune!!!!
I am a huge fan of Omar S – all of his records should never leave any record bag. You always create special moments on the dancefloor with his tunes. This one might sound deep and easy listening but wait until you hear it in a club and that dominant synth kicks in!
Those jazz elements in a techno track!!!! I have listened to this track maybe a couple of thousand times and it blows me away every time. The chords, the synth, the melody and the deepness of it… this track is a real story teller!
