Hi, thanks for taking the time to talk to us today. 2022 is almost over, we want to know what is your most important highlight of the year, both musically and personally?Ā

Manu P.: Hello, thanks to you. Definitely playing in front of 1000 people for my party ā€˜The Cage’.

Federico Rosa: Hey guys, thanks for taking the time to interview me. On a musical level, I think my latest release ā€˜Sensation’ and the charting success it brought through – I’ve spent several weeks in the Top 10 on Traxsource and landed major support from international DJs. The other highlight I’d say was signing to great labels like Material and Happy Techno, can’t wait for those releases to come out. On a more personal level, I’m proud of my new residency at the club in the town where I was born.

What was your favorite release of 2022 (of your own)?

Manu P.:Ā  I haven’t released anything this year, but next year for sure! :)

Federico Rosa: ā€˜Sensation’… but my absolute favourite is ā€˜My Way’, a track that was released in summer 2021 during the difficult Covid period. It remains my favourite track and probably my most successful to date.

What was your favorite track of the year from someone else?

Manu P.: Classmatic, Guerra – ā€˜Los Patrones’ Ā

ā€˜In Tha House’ – Cayó La Noche (L.H.G Edit) Ā

Eli Brown – RudeboiĀ

Federico Rosa: ā€˜TECH IT DEEP – ā€˜Maria Maria’

Did you have any special standout shows this year either that you played or attended?

Manu P.:Ā  Lot of gigs in Italy in the 2 clubs where I’m resident: Cantiere 21 and Clover Club.

Federico Rosa: I’ve played in many clubs here in Italy, probably my favourite night was ā€˜The Cage’ at Clover in Umbria…friends and positive vibes !

What was the biggest lesson you learned in life 2022?Ā

Manu P.:Ā  Watching, listening, always trying to do the best but always remaining yourself.

Federico Rosa: Never take anything for granted and never give up. If you work hard and you believe in what you’re doing, the results will come.

And following on, what was the biggest lesson you learned in music?Ā

Manu P.: There is no genre that is always right for everyone. But you have to be good at making sure that everyone can like what you put on.

Federico Rosa: Music teaches us one of the most imporatant things in life…to listen. Music is life and it makes me happy.

If you could send yourself a message to you 5 years ago, what would it be and why?

Manu P.:Ā  Don’t let those close to you deviate you, just out of interest.

Federico Rosa: Honestly I wouldn’t know…5 years ago I didn’t have the maturity that I have today. Everything that’s happened, helped in shaping me in the person I am today.

How has your sound developed in 2022?Ā

Manu P.: I’m more and more influenced by pressing rhythms and Techno sounds.

Federico Rosa: I had started mainly doing Tech House but slowly I am getting closer to the Minimal Tech world.

Who would you say was the most innovative artist in 2022?Ā

Manu P.:Ā  Patrick Topping.Ā

Federico Rosa: I’d say Gordo, he was one of the first to include Latin vocals on Tech House tracks.

Which label or labels do you think where at the top of their game in 2022?Ā

Manu P.:Ā  Trick label, Solid grooves.

Federico Rosa: Hot Creations, Repopulate Mars, Solid Grooves.

Ā If any, do you have any regrets for the year behind us?Ā

Manu P.: Not one.

Federico Rosa: No, no regrets at all.

What are your plans for the holidays?Ā

Manu P.:Ā  I have no holidays mate!Ā

Federico Rosa: At Christmas and New Year’s I’ll be playing in two clubs here in Italy…the rest of the day I just want to relax and spend time with family and friends.

Just for fun, if you had to take a classic Christmas song and remix it, what style would it be and what could we expect?Ā

Manu P.:Ā  It would be what I’m playing now, but I can’t tell you what genre it is either.

Federico Rosa: Would be super cool to do a Tech House remix of ā€˜Last Christmas’ by Wham!

Where will you be spending New Year’s Eve?Ā

Manu P.:Ā  Cantiere 21 and Clover club.Ā

Federico Rosa: On New Year’s Eve I’ll be behind the decks at my residency here in Marche.Ā

If you had to put 2022 into one sentence, what would it be?Ā

Manu P.:Ā  Evolution.

Federico Rosa: 2022 was a year of rebirth for many industries, we hope in an even better new year filled with fantastic achievements and experiences.
