Stroboscopic Artefacts is set to release an innovative concept with a 10″ transparent vinyl album series called Totem.
In a release, Stroboscopic Artefacts described the Totem series having a “forward-leaning edge”, with each release having a “subtly divergent take on the aesthetic space defined by techno and club culture.” Totem will continue to build on the ideas previously established by Stroboscopic Artefacts: the relation between sound and material object, spatiotemporality, and the musical architecture.
The series will be characterized by an emblemized transparent 10-inch, a stylistic choice Stroboscopic Artefacts has chosen to “reinforce the cognition” and convey the record’s message “that will develop as the record’s existence moves through space and time.”
First to be released under this series will be the productions of Stroboscopic Artefacts’ label head, Lucy, aka Luca Mortellaro. The three-track EP, titled Tarkomania, has been described as “a circular meditation on specific musical and philosophic themes” and an invitation into Lucy’s famously nuanced sound processes.
Tarkomania is set to be released on June 18, but for the meantime a preview track from the EP has been made available.
