IMS Ibiza 2018 Brings 69 New Speakers for Its 11th Rendition

The International Music Summit aka IMS Ibiza is approaching its 11th year this year in association with Pioneer DJ. IMS brings along some of the most influential and key figures in electronic music each and every year to discuss numerous topics surrounding the electronic music industry.

This year will see prolific industry representatives such as artists deadmau5, Seth Troxler, Nastia, and Bedouin and the management teams behind Solomun, Armin Van Buuren, and Black Coffee. Agents from Coda and William Morris and representatives from Burning Man, Sonar, and BPM Festival as well as the heads of A&R from XL Recordings and Toolroom will speak over the course of three days. Experts will also speak regarding other topics that will include Blockchain, Drug Testing, Sexual Harassment, and Mental Health.

This year will play host to 69 new speakers aiming to continue to act as what some refer to as “the TED of music conferences”. Insightful and inspirational discussions will take place amongst some of the most recognizable artists and industry professionals in the world. Artists will discuss their own individual paths to success and what it takes to sustain a career in the electronic music industry. Managers and agents will bring additional advice on what goes on behind the curtain as well as what the future holds.

Dominique Debucquoy-Dodley will discuss Black Rock City and Ibiza to discover shared philosophies and examining what Burning Man and Ibiza stand for and will be joined by Seth Troxler. Michael Addicott and Jonathan Barnes of Pandora will look into how to get one’s music on Pandora and Benji Rogers will discuss how blockchain technology could play a role in the future of music.

Tamer Malki of Bedouin, Paco Osuna, and Solomun’s manager, Daniel Shoeps will host The Great Annual Ibiza Debate along with Jessica Capaz of Pacha Group and Raver, Bradley Gunn will take part in a Keynote Interview to discuss sober clubbing and his feud with Asperger’s Syndrome. Carl Loben of DJ Mag along with Kate Hutchinson of The Guardian and Carly Wilford of SISTER Collective will discuss Sexual Harassment in DJ Culture with the leading female platform, SHESAID.SO presenting the discussion.

Darren James-Thomas of FMLY Agency along with Thomas Heyne of Scorpios in Mykonos, Gustavo Pereira of BPM Portugal and NEOPOP and Mark Newton of Snowbombing and Hideout Festival will discuss programming and talent buying for festivals and Maykel Piron of Armada Music and Chris Manning of The Orchard will discuss the state of music in the digital environment.

IMS will also play host to discussions on topics such as wealth management and tax advice, music entrepreneurship, drug testing, and A&R as well as examine the evolution of the 25 year old Sonar Festival and 15 years of Toolroom Records.

Co-founded by the legendary Pete Tong, IMS Ibiza is said to assemble the best and brightest minds in the industry in order to debate issues we care about and discuss ways to progress and succeed.
