Into The Factory 2017 Canceled Following Police Strike Down on Permits

The much-anticipated Into The Factory festival in Sverige, Sweden just outside of Stockholm has been canceled following a police strike down on the needed permits for the festival to take place.

Music Goes Further, the brains behind the Into The Valley brand that this year sought to expand with a Factory and Castle event, made the announcement early this morning U.S. time via a post on their social media, where they clearly point the finger to local police for the problems that have resulted in the festival’s cancellation, which was meant to take place 10-12th of August:

Making dance events in Sweden has always been a struggle, battling with the police and other authorities eager to make our culture an example on the local war on drugs. All preparations for Into the Factory have had normal challenges, but mostly have been a constructive and progressive process, up until just a few days ago when police stated that they will veto against the festival permit.

In the statement Music Goes Further specifies why the police have canceled the event:

The police states that it will be impossible to produce a safe event. That people would die from drug overdose and from climbing and jumping of tall buildings on the festival area.

They further go on to state that this will be their last attempt at throwing a festival in their home country of Sweden, highlighting how this is the worst day in their 20-year experience as event promoters.

Read the full statement below for information on what happens if you bought a ticket, including refund/replacement options for any other events under the Music Goes Further umbrella. Unfortunately this does not take into account travel plans made by hundreds who were flying into Stockholm for the special event next month.
