Dennis Cruz had a spectacular 2016 that saw him top of the charts thanks to a flurry of successful releases on labels like Suara, Stereo Recordings, Solid Grooves, Lemon-Aid, Snatch! and Suruba X amongst many others. For his work he has picked up many awards and nominations from being Beatport’s 3rd Best Tech House Artist to Resident Advisor’s 2nd Most Charted Artist of 2016.
Always serving up dancing dynamite, it is no wonder he has found favor with big hitters like Jamie Jones and Pan-Pot, Roger Sanchez and Marco Carola, all of whom reach for his tunes when they need to make an impact. Dennis began his 2017 with gigs at BPM Festival and is set to travel to Argentina for a mini-tour next months.
6AM had a chat with Dennis to discover what his favorite 5 tracks of the moment are:
Really dark techno beat with deep bass and synths, i love to play this track, so simple and effective! Very nice peak time record.
This track has a super groove! One of my favorite dark and dubby tracks at the moment, I can play it in the beginning or towards the end of a set, deep, dark and funky at the same time.
I think this is probably one of my best tunes, a heavy beat with vocals. The groove and beat carries the whole track with an stab synth, while the vocals open the whole track up, leading it into a more fresh, happier and sunnier vibe. Has worked really well on the dance floors so far!
I like how this track is so super simple, but also very deep
I use it as a DJ tool, it’s a 10 min tribal track, so it’s perfect to add groove to your sets
Dubby rolling track from David, on his usual heavy deep style, this is going to be released on my label Lemon-Aid in the next few months, people get crazy with this tune, I’m playing it in all my sets at the moment!
