The label is run by Spanish artistsā Cesar Almena and Nuke, who are both based out of Madrid. Their record label is linked to the CODE events that regularly book DJs like Blawan, Reinier Zonneveld, Robert Hood and Chris Liebing.
Out now on CODE Records is a new release that has original material made in collaboration by Christian Smith and Drunken Kong. There are also solo remixes by Cesar Almena and Nuke.
Christian Smith has a legacy stretching back to the ā90s including many releases on his highly respected record label Tronic, he has also featured on other labels such as Alan Fitzpatrickās We Are The Brave and Adam Beyerās Drumcode.
Drunken Kong also recently made their debut on Drumcode following many releases on other noteworthy labels such as Monika Kruse’s Terminal M and Sianās Octopus.
āSuccessionā is the solo original track on the release and it opens with a rumbling bassline and pulsating synth melody that is driven forth by a pounding kick drum. Cesar Almenaās version of Succession adds sinister intensity with the originalās synth line replaced with eerie pads and breakbeat rhythms. Nuke brings things to a close with an impressive remix that adds trippy synths to the originalās vocal and percussion.
