Originally started in 2003, Black Codes Experiments is an underground techno event and label that is set to feature artists such as Bas Mooy, Pfirter, Inigo Kennedy, Mark Broom, Exium, P.E.A.R.L., Takaaki Itoh, alongside the project owners Cristian Varela and Ian Axide.
This latest package of tracks includes original music from Tensal, Abstract Division, Ian Axide, and Refracted.
Tensal is the illusive Spanish moniker also known as one half of Exium whose influential productions can be found on labels including Modularz, Falling Ethics, Float, Children of Tomorrow, and of course his own self titled project. “Elyum Sphere” is a brash and thumping peak time slayer, that pulls no punches as it stomps its way forward. Later adding some harmonic drones, there is depth and class embedded in it’s roots.
Next up are Dutch duo Abstract Division aka Paul Boex and Dave Miller, who are also behind the excellent Dynamic Reflection label whilst also including labels like Enemy, Semantica, Figure Jams, and Planet Rhythm to their name. We are premiering their track “Enforcement” today. It’s characterized by a strong dub influence whilst being spacious with deep, hypnotic textures, and packing enough punch for any dance floor pleasure seeker.
Emphatic label boss and co-owner of Black Codes Experiments, Ian Axide has created an analogue monster in “Anesthesia” that’s warm and jackin’ and that’s made to heat up the dance floor with it’s trippy tones and organic morphing textures.
Berlin’s Refracted is known for his stellar contributions to PoleGroup and its sublabel AINE, Mind Express, Semantica, plus Silent Season. The final track “Dom” soothes and delights as a low slung and dubby techno trawler that creeps and bleeps setting the scene to that of a cavernous adventure.
